"The Throop Loop"
In the Header above you can see Hurn Court Lane leading off. If you take this and walk clockwise around on to footpaths you come across the Stour River and Throop Mill with its Weir. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty and an easy walk without any hills! Right at our doorstep.
Extraordinary to most that this beauty is so close to Bournemouth and the Airport but you would not know.

Welcome to Heronshaw House at Hurn an Hotel offering superior accommodation and great local food - ideal for a family celebration, a house party with friends, or just a pampered, relaxing weekend break in traditional farmland and therefore quiet, but surprisingly very close to all major transportation and Bournemouth Airport.
Heronshaw House at Hurn is a traditional 17th century stone-built farmhouse, with various brick modifications over the centuries, on the edges of the New Forest.
Bournemouth centre is just 10 or 12 minutes away with its wonderful beaches and lovely town centre. The Purbecks are just over the chain ferry at Sandbanks at the head of Poole Harbour another 10 minutes away.
This is the Jurassic Coast.

S T [St Albans, England 24/12/12] : "We stayed at Heronshaw House over Christmas and had a thoroughly lovely time. We were a family of six including adults, teenagers and children. We used the hotel as a base from which we made trips to local family and also as a venue where we entertained family on Boxing day. All the food we ate was of a very high standard and delicious. Jenny and Craig were welcoming, helpful and totally accommodating of any specific requests we made.
The house its self is historic, comfortable and very peaceful. The three rooms we used were very clean,adequately equipped and warm. We loved the location; off the beaten track with views of the countryside and well tended livestock and vegetable areas but also very close to Bournemouth,Christchurch, West Moors, actually everywhere we needed to get to over Christmas! It is also perhaps worth mentioning that despite its apparent closeness to the airport, we heard no aircraft noises at all.
Over the last two decades we have stayed in many quality hotels with our four children. Heronshaw House stands out as a little 'oasis' that combines a good standard of accommodation /facilities with the exceptional food and attention to detail that only comes with true effort and care. It is a 'house hotel' really, the sort of place you can wander around like a home and yet have the benefits of a hotel; no washing up, cooking or bed making!
We would recommend this hotel to anyone who is seeking something a little more individual than that which is usually on offer at most other similarly priced hotels. We will definitely be returning."
