Specially created for GunDogs and Owners who are interested in taking their dogs to a new level of training working towards Field Trials and steady competent gun dogs.

Dogs can sleep in the rooms or in their own cage in one of the stables.
Heronshaw House is very close to Bournemouth airport yet set in beautiful countryside overlooking the water meadows of the River Stour. Heronshaw is a stunning 350 year old farmhouse set in delightful grounds and has been converted into a small luxury hotel with five ensuite bedrooms all individually decorated and having views over the water meadows or gardens. The dining room specialises in gourmet food with signature dishes using local game and pork from our own herd of Rare Breed Saddlebacks - for pudding the Lemon Meringue Souffle is a must! Heronshaw House is also home to Tawhaki Gundogs and our four working cockers - Mum - Taitti, Dad - Krug and their two offspring Charli and Cristi now six months old - all trained with a huge input from Nick.
Nick Gregory is one of the UK’ s leading gundog trainers having won the 2009 British Cocker Spaniel Championship - he specialises in spaniels and retrievers. He is based on the Hamptworth Estate which is located in the New Forest National Park and consists of over 3,000 acres of mixed woodland, bracken banks, white grass, lake and wetlands. This provides a perfect environment for training any breed of gundog in a relaxed atmosphere. The Rabbit Pen is especially interesting! The numbers of dogs attending has been kept small so that everyone can get one to one tuition and those watching can learn without waiting too long for their turn!
The weekend promises to be relaxed and friendly with lots of good times to remember.
The Programme
Friday afternoon/ evening
2pm - 6.00 pm Arrival at Heronshaw House - your base for the weekend.
Arrive any time after 2pm but in good time to have settled and ready for drinks and canapes and an introduction to the weekend by Nick and your hosts at 6pm. This is a time for dogs and owners to get to know each other and to let us know what you are hoping to learn and gain from the weekend.

7.30 Dinner in the River Trout Restaurant for both residents and non residents
Saturday morning
8 am Breakfast in the River Trout Dining Room
choose from a fresh fruit and cereal buffet and/or top it with a great cooked breakfast including Kippers and Smoked Haddock or, of course, a Traditional English Breakfast.
9.30am Depart for Hamptworth Estate
After a cup of tea of coffee we will:-
start training at 10.30am
Each dog and handler will be tutored individually and the group will look on to learn
1.00pm Lunch in the Marquee
All cooked on site and served in style!
2.15pm Putting training into practice
4.30pm Depart for Heronshaw House
6.00pm Canapes and Drinks
7.30 Dinner and Prize giving
Sunday Morning
8.30 am Breakfast in the River Trout Restaurant

10.00 am Depart for a walk to the big field and on for remembering all that has been done!
12.30pm Light lunch before departure.
The Cost
The weekend starts on Friday evening and finishes on Sunday after lunch - the all inclusive price for Dinner with wine Friday evening, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Saturday, Breakfast and Lunch Sunday including the training with Nick Gregory at Hamptworth Estate all day Saturday, an introduction talk on the Friday evening at Heronshaw House by Nick and double or twin rooms with single occupancy with dogs is £395.
Wives/Husbands or Companions are welcome for the added cost of the meals and wine of £100.
One single room is available for £325.
Non residential Gundogs and Owners but including all meals and wine £150 [Preference is given to residential guests and dogs]
Terms are 50% Deposit on Booking. Cancellation of the Weekend because of reasons beyond control by us will result in a full refund.
